As a formerly obese person, I am obsessed with food.
If I'm being honest, I do miss ridiculously unhealthy and rich foods.
I got thinner. I didn't get a lobotomy.
My favorite comfort foods (in my former life) were: (and I must admit it's fun to reminisce)
Cheesecake
Chicken Wings
Chinese Food--especially lo mein
Cookies & Cream Ice Cream
Macaroni & Cheese
Loaded Nachos
And that's just the start. Burgers. Steaks. French Fries. Meatball Subs. Starbursts.
Don't even get me started!
Nowadays, I try not to comfort myself with food. But, I do allow myself a few things...
When I'm sick--Chicken Soup is a must! My Grandma used to make it and then my mom, and now I make it for myself! It always makes me feel better.
Peanut Butter is just generally a blessing from God.
My most nostalgic holiday food is stuffing. I only eat it on holidays, and it makes me feel warm and fuzzy inside. (It makes my outsides jiggly.)
Sweet Potato is my favorite "I need some carbs" food. I love eating it when I've had a long day and I'm feeling exhausted and depleted.
But again, this post just reminds me that I'm still obsessed with food.
Save me from myself.
